STBA Teknokrat

                                          

Teknokrat Higher School of Foreign Language held another field trip that last seven days, from the 22nd to 28th March 2015. Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta were the destinations for this year’s event. This program was designed as part of subject that focus on practicing tour guide skills. Followed by 134 students, this annual event aims to provide insights on how international level tourism places, manage and promote programs and attractions in interesting ways. The students were required to document and summarize all activities that took place at the sites they visited and presented the results as their mid-term tests. They were expected to be able to add to their knowledge the basics of tour guiding which is the competency for completing Conversations 2 subject.

During this trip, the students were released by the Chairman of Teknokrat Education Foundation, H. Mahathir Mohammad, S.E., M.M. to go out and get involved in many activities. In his speech he said, “The students have to possess the power of creativity and extensive knowledge. Therefore, this kind of field trip is one of the means to achieve it."

                                         

Right after leaving the campus, the group went to Bandung and visited some tourism places, namely the natural park Tangkuban Perahu and Bandung’s geology museum to practice their tour guide skills. Furthermore, the students visited the famous T-Shirt factory C59 to gain insight and entrepreneurial spirit through a lecture delivered by the founder of the factory. The students also went to Trans Studio Bandung and Cihampelas Walk to hang around and have fun. In Yogyakarta the students were led to visit Indonesian phenomenal temples, namely Borobudur and Prambanan. In addition, the students took part in entrepreneurial lecture delivered directly by the owner of the famous Waroeng Spesial Sambal (SS) in Yogyakarta while given the opportunity to have dinner there. Furthermore, the students had the opportunity to go to Malioboro shopping center. Before returning to Lampung, they traveled to some places in Jakarta like Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and the National Monument.

 

 

Succeeding to be the champion in National Drone Competition, the Teknokrat Robotic Team (TRT), got an honour to show their advanced progress to the Vice Regent of Tulang bawang, Heri Wardoyo, S.H. The local government of that regency asked for assistance to capture the drones there. By means of three drones (Quadcopter, Hexacopter, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) fixed wing), TRT had captured some areas in Tulang Bawang for two days (March 2nd and 3rd). and they showed captures in the form videos and photographs. These drones were able to capture 100 to 500 hectares. The team cooperated with the Secretary of the vice regent (Hotdin Sihotang, S.E.) and the Secretary of the Head of Agricultural, Horticultural and Forestry Department of Tulang Bawang (Budi Sutomo, S.Si., M.Si.). The videos and photographs would be the source or data to identify tourism, horticultural and agricultural potentials. Mr. Wardoyo stated that the local government of Tulang Bawang got some very useful assistance from the Teknokrat drones. Further, he positively supported the applied technology program of Teknokrat students to assist the development program in Tulang Bawang.

                                         

Teknokrat Higher School of Foreign Language is back to achieve the monumental triumph after Riskhi Sucindawini succeeded to get the 2nd place of the 42nd National Japanese Speech Contest at RRI Jakarta, on Saturday15th June 2013. This annual competition was participated by students that were representing winner selection from North Sumatera, Jabodetabek, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and Sulawesi. Suci’s achievement led her to represent Indonesia at ASEAN Speech Contest in Tokyo, Japan. Mari Araki Sensei, One of the Japanese lecturers from Japan revealed that Teknokrat College joined this competition for the first time and became the first deputy of Sumatera that succeeded to represent Indonesia in ASEAN Level.

 

 

 

                                            

“Teknokrat Sang Juara” (Teknokrat “The Champion”) is such an appropriate name for Teknokrat Higher School. Continuously, Teknokrat did not only get triumph in every local competition but Teknokrat also did it in regional and national competition and even international competition. Lately, once more Teknokrat students got triumph in the 4th Sumateran Idea Debate 2013 in Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya (Sriwijaya State Polytechnic) on November 27th – 30th, 2013.There were two Teknokrat teams getting triumph. The team consisting of M. Chasogi Alam and Timmotius Immanuel grabbed the first place and the team consisting of Dio Alif Saputra and Dina Elfitriyanti grabbed the second place.  Furthermore, there were also three Teknokrat Higher School students who were awarded as the Best Speaker. They are Dina Elfitriyanti (1st best speaker), M. Chasogi Alam (2nd best speaker), and Dio Alif Saputra (3rd best speaker).
