Coordinated by English Literature study program, the students of STBA Teknokrat get the opportunity to explore various tourism destinations in Indonesia through an annual field trip program. This eight-day-program was conducted in March and April 2016 and combined experiencing the process of professional tour guiding and experiencing the true culture of Indonesia. These experiences contribute to Transactional Conversation course since this course focuses on the practice of tour guide as well as emphasizes Indonesian art and culture.

The students explore three major destinations such as Jakarta, Bali, and Yogyakarta. First, they explored Jakarta, learning the history of the Istiqlal Mosque, attending the Roof-Top Program on Trans 7 TV station, enjoying Atlantis Water Adventure and Fantasy World (DUFAN). Next, they went on a trip to Bali, exploring Balinese’s great and unique attractions such as Bedugul, Art Joger, Kuta Beach, Galuh, Barong Dance, Sragen Art Market, Pandavas Beach, Pura Ulu Watu and Tanah Lot. The students also visited the ceramics industry BTIKK Bali to participate in a workshop on making ceramics. This workshop equipped the students with the entrepreneurship and the knowledge of creative industries. After that, the students explored Yogyakarta, visiting Prambanan Temple, Bakpia home industry, Malioboro street, and Rara Djongrang Batik Factory.

Nasrullah Yusuf, SE., MBA., stated “students will have broader vista about various cultural and historical places as well as tourism destinations in Indonesia after participating in this program.
